Procedural Rope Bridge
A short breakdown on a digital asset I created : A rope bridge maker. This tool can make a lot of differents ropes bridges ready for destruction.
You can see a short shot in which I used this tool to modelise, shade and destroy the bridge.
It was also the opportunity for me to try Embergen to create clouds and explosion.

Embergen was a really cool solution to generate quickly clouds wedges.
Now, let's see how powerfull can be this tool !
I start by choosing a lot of references on Google Image, Artstation to see all kinds of ropes bridges that exists and how they were made.
My tool must be able to recreate a maximum of these.
Menu allow you to create a lot of variations on planks, ropes, tenders and pillars. You can also design high poly and the shape of pillars.
Finally you can give a material for each part of the bridge.
It need a curve and a collision geometry in order to work. Plug them into the inputs of the digital asset. I recommend to work in low poly first to design the bridge.
Working with curves allow you to unleash your creativity ! You can change the shape of the curve whenever you want.
As an FX artist, I set this tool ready-destructable. The second output is usefull for constraints or to deform with vellum.
You have access to group to isolate or delete a wanted part.
Notice that high poly geometry is pre-factured.
